The effectiveness of international criminal law in protecting the environment during non-internatonal armed conflict

Abstract:
There is a general obligation on states during armed conflicts, whether international or non-international, which is not to use destructive weapons unless in accordance with international conventions, treaties and norms to protect the environment. State must respect the rules of war stipulated in the Hague and Geneva Conventions and customs of war, therefor, we have explained the real and effective rules of international criminal law that apply in a time of unarmed conflicts to protect the environment.
